Blue Dream Shrimp exhibit a solid, opaque blue body with a smooth, glossy sheen. Unlike lighter Blue Velvet or Blue Jelly varieties, they have darker pigmentation and excellent color coverage, even on their legs. Females are typically larger and display more saturated hues, while males are smaller and slightly paler. Adult size averages 1–1.25 inches (2.5–3 cm).
