Description
The Red Lizard Catfish (Rineloricaria sp. “L10a”) is a slender, elegant Loricariid appreciated for its vibrant red-orange coloration and peaceful temperament. Reaching about 4–5 inches, it has the classic “twig catfish” profile with a long tail filament and subtle patterning along the body. These fish thrive in well-oxygenated, clean water with moderate flow and plenty of hiding spots such as driftwood, roots, and caves.
Red Lizards are gentle community fish and do best in stable, mature aquariums. They enjoy a varied diet of quality sinking foods, blanched vegetables, and meaty supplements. Often bred in cave-spawning setups, males guard the eggs until hatching. Beautiful, unique, and relatively hardy when properly acclimated, L10a make a striking addition to peaceful freshwater setups.
